Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This is a plain-English summary of the terms of using Volt Directory. It is not legal advice. We may update these terms — the "last updated" date above shows the current version.
1. About us
Volt Directory ("Volt", "we", "us") is a UK business directory operated as a sole trader based in England & Wales. Contact: voltdirectory@gmail.com.
2. What the service is
Volt Directory is a free UK directory of independent car detailers, mobile mechanics and MOT garages. Listings may be self-submitted by owners, or added by us from publicly-available sources and offered to the owner to claim.
3. Accounts and claiming a listing
- Information you submit must be accurate and up to date.
- Do not impersonate another business or person.
- One account per business.
4. Acceptable content
You agree not to submit or transmit anything that is:
- illegal, misleading, defamatory or infringing;
- spam, scraped or bulk unsolicited content sent via our enquiry forms;
- malware or otherwise harmful to the service or users.
We may remove or edit any listing or enquiry at our discretion, without notice, to keep the directory useful and trustworthy.
5. Removal and unsubscribe
Business owners can remove their listing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any invite email, or by emailing voltdirectory@gmail.com. We may also remove listings at our discretion.
6. Enquiries between users and businesses
Volt forwards customer enquiries to the listed business but is not a party to any resulting communication, quote, booking or transaction. Any dealings are strictly between the customer and the business. We are not liable for the quality of work provided, or for disputes arising from those dealings.
7. Intellectual property
Volt owns the site, its design, brand and codebase. By submitting listing content, you grant Volt a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and promote that content as part of the directory. You retain ownership of your content.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any loss arising out of your use of the service is limited to £100 or any fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim (whichever is higher). Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.
9. Changes to the service or terms
We may change or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may update these terms — continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
